Hi Richard,
MICAMOLD: the "real" mica dielectric caps they made tests usually good, but
the paper dielectric ones are a complete mess.
The company seems to have been in business until at least the mid-60s.
See google images: some remembers the Micamold's "Tropicap" ???
SOLAR: apart making stacked paper caps "Micamold" style, they also made disc
ceramic ones: the .005µF caps in the early R-390As are branded "Solar" so
the company was still active in the mid-50s, at least !
SPRAGUE: apart from the round paper-in-oil caps they made (now leaky at
various degrees, except the Vitamin Qs), there were also box shaped ones
that do not behave any better when tested for leakage now.
TOBE: (Tobe Deutschmann corp - Canton, Mass.) another brand of mica-looking
caps but they are really stacked paper ones.
Useless to take the time to test any of those: change them !
