For What It's Worth -- the Electric Radio magazine has a long-running advertisement by a fellow who sells spun aluminum dial inlays for old radios. Name is Charlie Talbott, and his email is k3ich at arrl.net.

Subject: [Hallicrafters] Substitutable inlay for a main knob of Hallicrafters FPM-300

For your information:
I'm reporting the just substitution of inlay into the main knob
for Hallicrafters FPM-300 transceiver.
I replaced the main knob of my FPM-300/FPM-300 MK II
by an inlay which is one of Yaesu 50 line like FR-50, FL-50, FV-50 or
FT-50; Yaesu 100 line; 100B line; 200B line and 400B line successfully.

Though I could not remove the damaged inlay from a main knob,
I overlayed a substitution on the main knob, after pressing the brim of
a damaged inlay for making a chamfer on brim to fit well.

Though a substitute inlay of Yaesu is not the flat plate but the cusp
style, I like the finger touch.

Have a joyful operation,
