[Hallicrafters] R42 Speaker

Been down that road with other types of speakers and never found a 
satisfactory replacement within my budget.   I have an original R-46 with 
the AlinCo speaker and it sounds good.  I have another cabinet that I 
installed a "full range" speaker purchased from a supplier and it does not 
come close.

You can purchase replacement AlInCo speakers but they start at about $150.

Fortunately my R-42 speaker is still good and if I ever have to replace the 
speaker, I will have the existing one re-coned.

I suggest you find someone to do that and pay that price rather than 
replacing the speaker, unless you come across one for a low price.
