[Hallicrafters] SX-42 Question

I have begun evaluation of a SX-42 I acquired recently.  The first thing I
noticed was a lack of detent in the RECEPTION switch.  After removing the
cover I noticed that what looks like a ball bearing holder in the switch
chassis is missing the bearing.  This would explain the detent problem but
not sure how the bearing would escape.  Any ideas from the experts?
