That’s interesting Walt,

I have some 0A2WA's that were built in 1963 that used Krypton 85 which has a
half life of 10 years. Today they should have 1/32 of the radio active
material left with the rest decaying to Rubidium.

They are very unusual. They do not have a knee to conduction i.e. the
voltage doesn't have to slightly exceed 150.2 volts to flash then drop to
150. They simply conduct at 150 and stay there even if you filter the
output. The others will oscillate if over filtered. They still work fine
after 50 years.

Kindest regards Jim K9AXN

Clearing out boxes I have not looked at for 30 or 40 years. Found a NOS Navy
part still sealed in the heavy brown wax paper. It is a JAN 1B24 TUBE FOR
MODEL AN/APS-15A. I believe it provided T/R antenna switching or protection
shorting out the rx during the tx pulse. Anyone out there collect such
things. OH, BTW IT IS RADIO ACTIVE.
