I've been watching "Highway Patrol" a syndicated TV show made in the
1950s. It features some Hallicrafters radios particularly in the
"headquarters" set. At least one SX-42, I think also an SX-43 and an
S-40 or S-40A. Maybe some other stuff.
I remember this show from when I was a kid. The studio where it was
made was a few blocks from my house. I like to try to figure out where
the locations were. Some where in the general area of Hollywood but a
great many seem to have been in the San Fernando Valley. This city has
changed so much since then its hard to recognize it. Areas that were
still farmland are now very built up residential and business areas.
On You Tube, type in Highway Patrol. Reportedly this shows cost
about $20,000 per episode to make, hardly pay for feeding the crew now.
