I've seen several, possibly later SX-101As with the SX-117 style knobs. SX-115, SX-122, SX-133, HT-32B and possibly others use that style. Here's a picture of an SX-101A with this style:

Subject: [Hallicrafters] SX-101A variants

Just curious if anyone knows the history of this --

Recently picked up a
SX-101A. I also have a SX-101 MkIII. The SX-101A
has a completely different
style of knobs than the SX-101 -- the knobs
on the 101A are similar in style
to the SX-117 (square edged, stub on
the main tuning knob.

They look like
OEM parts, but I was curious since most of the depictions
on the Internet that
I see of the 101A have the same knob style as the 101.

As I said, just
curious. The 101A is in very good shape, but I found
this
perplexing.

73!
