Hopefully just a typo, but..   You mean 50kHz not 50Hz, right?

Subject: [Hallicrafters] Aligning a S-76

Hi All
I am working on an S-76, which belongs to an old friend who has owned the radio since we were kids. I have recapped it, and replaced a couple of tubes which tested weak. Now I'm trying to align it, and am stuck on the 50hz if. I am using a .01 cap to isolate pin 1 of the 50hz if can (L6 on the Hallicrafters schematic), and cannot seem to get an unmodulated signal through. There is about 270vdc on that pin, so I have to couple to it through some method. Any advice is appreciated.
