Hello, and help!

I'm working on realigning my SR-400A and I have a strange mechanical problem. With the cabinet in place, and the BOTTOM cover on, there is something odd - when changing from receive to MOX, the rig transmits! If I remove the bottom cover, all is fine. Can anyone give me an idea what's wrong here?
