I have a LOT of manuals and I definitely agree not to lend them out. Of course, I learned the "hard way". But, I learned VERY fast!
I usually scan the desired portions and then create a PDF. Then, the PDF can be E-Mailed, put on a disc, etc., and then the person who requested the information can be satisfied.
