I wonder if anyone has seen a problem like this before and has an idea on
how to fix it?  I have a Hallicrafters SR-160 and I just finished tuning it
up. It was working fine but now it has an oscillation in the IF section. I
can see a 1.55 KHz signal on the plate of the product detector, V5 pin 6.
Its a carrier with AM modulation of 1.55 KHz.    If I ground the grid of V2
(receiver mixer), V3 (first IF) or V4 (Second IF) the tone goes away.  I
pulled out V2 and the tone stopped for a second then started again at a
lower frequency. I put it back in and pulled out V3. That stopped the
oscillation.
