[Hallicrafters] hx-50

Hi all,
I was on Ebay and noticed a Hallicrafters HX-50 up for auction. Upon 
more reading, it stated that the rig had a solid state rectifier 
replacing the 5r4gy tube which is fairly common. but it also mentioned 
replacing the 6dq5 tube with an 8236 tube. Replacing this tube requires 
that the rectifier be the solid state in order for it to work properly. 
Has anyone else done this mod and if so is this something I should 
consider in my HX-50?
