[Hallicrafters] TW-1000 restoration query

Hi, friends!  I' m working on my '1000. Very original, no wiring or
component changes (yet).

First off - need new leather handle. There are a bunch of them online. But,
how are those original metal clips secured to the top of the cabinet? Not
bolted through, obviously. I want to get them off without damaging them.
Advice??

The set works a bit on all bands. Some hum near stations. Need to replace
that Selenium rectifier. What value dropping resistor to use??

Also, DeOxited the wipers on the tuning cap but seems that the contact is
still not clean, from tuning across bands. Suggestions? I'll realign once
all contacts are good.
BTW, got all the turret contacts nice and clean already.

The set will be nice once these things are sorted out. I'd appreciate
any/all suggestions.
