FWIW and maybe a different problem, for some reason
Earthlink and its associated names like Netcom were blocked
by someone. I belong to a photogrphy mailing list that
blocked my posts TO the list. I could get the messages from
the list but not post to it. For a time I used a throw-away
address just for this list. They finally found a way to fix
the problem but it evidently is quite common.
