[Hallicrafters] restoring yellowed clear plastic fronts on SX-100 & SX-96 S-meters

Has anyone tried one of those headlight restorer/cleaner plastic restoration
liquids on plastic S-meter front cover that has yellowed?

I have a couple of SX-100s and an SX-96 that could use a little cleaning up.
