[Hallicrafters] Test of an SX-101A

	On Sunday I bought a very poor looking Hallicrafters SX-101A (with
manual) at a swap meet for $50. 

	This is the second SX-101 I've bought. Some years ago I restored an
earlier model, I think it's the Mk II. 

	 Anyway, I brought the set up very gradually over a couple of hours
last night using a variac (our local voltage is 250 V).

	I got a big surprise, once the set was warmed up and I'd rotated the
band switch a few times, I heard N7EKD booming into VK6 on 40 metres,
at nearly midnight our time.
