I downloaded the image and magnified it. Its an S-36,
the type number is clearly visible on the main tuning dial
cover. The S-27 looks almost identical to the S-36.
Actually, this is probably a Navy RBK-12 since it has the
label on the front just to the left of the main dial.
There was some discussion in another list a few weeks
(months?) ago about the purpose of the receiver and of the
other equipment in the rack. I don't remember what the
conclusion was.
