Wow, I'll bet THAT's a rare bird.
Chuck Dachis doesn't even mention it in his book
The earliest one I've ever seen was like the one in the following year 1952
Allied catalog with the more common BIG S meter but plain knobs. The later
ones had the metal skirted small knobs and the ringed tuning/bandspread
knobs.
Just for info, I have access to a silk-screen for the early ones (Not the
1951 catalog version though.)
