Careful what you wish for!  The SR-400 on ebay is a risky proposition.

It is a “C” level SR-400 with a few of the mods to make it an SR-400A.  Can’t see well enough to accurately evaluate the state of the radio or whether anything was completed. 

The description says 6KD6’s have been installed.  From the photo, the tube sockets haven’t been lowered to accommodate the taller finals??? 

They apparently had problems with drift and made some very questionable mods to the VFO.  Those mods will without question, need to be removed.  There is nothing common, acceptable, or standard practice that was done to that VFO.

The SR-400 is a super radio and I would recommend that you be prepared for a significant commitment of time to make it right.  If you are not an exceptionally strong technician, think before you decide.  Hope this does not offend the seller but it needs to be said.   

Walt WD0GOF is selling an SR-400 that he restored.  That radio will provide a rewarding experience not disappointment.
