[Hallicrafters] SX-28A Rectifier Replacement

I've replaced the 5Z3 rectifier with a Weber Copper Cap Rectifier before (quite awhile ago)  and thought I'd ask before proceeding.  Is the following correct?
   1) Disconnect the transformer winding to pins 1 and 4 and tape (with a note inside).
   2) Connect Weber pin 1 to SO1 (octal plug on back of chassis) pin 4.
My Weber is pin 1 cathode, pin 4 n.c.
