In addition, I recently heard there was a study that concluded loss of hearing contributed to Alzheimer's progress. I guess it seems reasonable that the more one becomes "disconnected" from one's environment and its activities, the less there is going on to keep the brain cells stimulated. I wonder, though, what might have been their conclusions if they had studied radio ops (CW, digital) and heavy PC users??
