For cleaning tube pins, I just dip them in Goddard's Silver Dip or TarnX (basically the same product) for a few seconds.  That removes corrosion, etc.  Both products are available at supermarkets for a reasonable cost.  In this area (Dallas, Texas, area), Goddard's seems to be more prevalent than TarnX.  But, in other areas, TarnX is easier to find.

Both products are a LOT cheaper than DeOxit.

When applied with a "Q" tip, Goddard's Silver Dip and TarnX make a very good cleaner for things like rotary switch contacts and other parts of those switches.

Wiggle every tube.  If you hear any flack, clean the socket as Walt points
out and clean the tube pins.

To clean the tube pins, I spray a bit of deoxit on a piece of Styrofoam and
jam the tube pins into it.
