>From my experience it is difficult to change the way anyone likes to  pack 
by sending instructions. Proper packing takes a lot of time and requires  
certain materials, not usually what someone who only ships  occasionally might 
have on hand. 
 
For this reason I always used to plan a trip to pick up valuable  heavy 
equipment but this is not really necessary anymore. I now contact Dave  Haller 
at hamradioboxes and he builds a custom foam lined, double thickness  and 
twin-boxed shipping container and sends it to the  seller.
