[Hallicrafters] Tubes

I need to purchase some 6C4's which brings me to big decisions. Should I 
buy gray plate or black plate or is there some other color plate that is 
better?  What kind of getters should they have? Should I buy GE or RCA 
or Raytheon or NOS Mil tubes.  So many choices!  Geez, the audiophools 
have screwed up the market for everything!!!!
