Hi George,
	After ~ 70 yrs, it's almost anyone's guess, and a lot of folks have 
guessed (differently, mostly).  I did my first one 13 yrs ago, and did 
have the inside of the bottom cover which had been pretty well protected 
over the yrs, so I had that scanned and paint mixed to match.  I'd call 
it a "business-man's" bluish gray.  You can see a cupla pix at 
<http://www.boatanchors.org/sx28.htm> your monitor might show it a bit 
off-color.
