[Hallicrafters] Slipping dial cord

It is a personal choice. I have several of the Dutch Boy metal tins of
solder paste flux..
I also have Kester 43 solder. A few 1lb. rolls.
I've even acquires the plumber's version in the plastic "tin" type
containers.
I have no intention of paying about $8 for 125mL of something that I
really don't need.
Then there is the just plain rosin from a music emporium that serves
well for the dial cords.
Although I have not had the need to use it on stringing a dial cord yet.
I've definitely strung SX-101s, and an SX-99, along with a Mohican.
Everyone chooses to do their restorations in their own way.
Enough said.
