Hi again David:
What spectrum analyzer do you use.  The HP 8568B can be used for audio, it 
goes down to 200 cycles or you can go straight to the output of the I.F. 
system.  If you use the audio output simply use a diode noise generator or 
florescent bulb next to the antenna wire.  Set max hold and voila you have a 
good photo shoot.  Same goes for the I.F. test point.  If you have a sweeper 
use it.  The photos come out like the photos in the book.

Chris,

I aligned the 1600 KHz oscillator yesterday and got the signal centered
in the pass band to 500 Hz.  I hope that is close enough because I
intend to work on the 1700 KHz oscillator today.  I am thinking about
how to attenuate the signal enough so I can connect my spectrum analyzer
and actually see the pass band.

If the 1700 KHz goes as well as the the 1600 KHz alignment did, I might
even get the RF section aligned.
