     Thanks, this is helpful. Evidently the HT-18 and 19 
overlap the period of the receiver. If one wanted to have a 
RX and TX which could have been bought at the same time that 
would be about it although the BC-610 was available from 
both surplus and new from Hallicrafters.
     My impression is that Hallicrafters concentrated on 
producing new receivers for the post-war market before 
undertaking transmitters.
     The entire economy was in a state of great flux right 
after the war and for some time after. Of course technology 
was also changing rapidly and there was a surge of new, 
mostly small, companies offering innovative and sometimes 
quite competitive products.   I think it must have been 
difficult for all of the manufacturers to judge what would 
sell.
