Hi Bob:
The BFO is probably not the problem. The SX-100 series is very sensitive to
vibration --- will change frequency with a slight jar to the table ---
normal operation. The Mark 2A is normally less sensitive because they
reengineered the backlash mechanism.
As for 15 meters, please elaborate a bit more.
Kindest regards Jim K9AXN

Subject: [Hallicrafters] SX 100 MK2A
Hi all,
I am in the process of restoring a MK2A. I did an alignment this morning
and found that I was unable to get 15 meters to be within acceptable specs.
It seems to be off about 100 khz plus. I was wondering if someone might be
able to lead me in a direction where I might look next for the possible
problem. All other bands turned out very well. This is my first attempt at a
restoration. Also, I am in need of a replacement BFO unit. Mine is very
sloppy and wont stay in tune with the very slightest wiggle. If anyone
might have a spare they are willing to give up, I would appreciate talking
with you.
Thanks in advance-Bob-W0YBS
