[Hallicrafters] SX-28, S3 oscillator core stuck

I was aligning the third band, 3.0 - 5.8 mc and couldn't get the bottom of the band to come up, the whole band is way low about 200 kc on the low end and worse on top and realized that core of S3 is stuck almost at the end of it's travel. The trimmer will screw in and out but the core does not move. Anyone familiar with the insides of these? Can this be repaired? (if I can get it out in one piece) Or even better does anyone have one of these they'd like to sell? The radio's been recapped (I didn't do it) and I have the rest of the radio aligned nice but this band is pretty much useless the way it is. Also if anyone has removed one of these removal tips would be appreciated, Thanks,
