  Cant thank everyone enough for taking the time to help me out. I can 
pretty much come to the conclusion that I should replace the power cord 
with a 3 wire. I will do that. Would I still want to put the caps on the 
ac lines? In answer to another comment as to whether or not the existing 
power cord is polarized. I will have to say yes, so I cant really turn 
it around in the plug socket so to reverse it, I will have to unsolder 
it anyway so I may as well put the proper 3 wire cord on it. I will let 
you all know how it turns out. I will give you all a break from taxing 
your brains for a bit and get the cord swapped out and see what happens. 
In answer to another comment as to whether or no thave the proper 
equipment to work on the rig and the answer to that is a yes. But I must 
admit, that is another learning experience for me as well. But you know 
what, this is a blast getting this figured out, and as soon as I get the 
problem fixed, I will be looking for a qso from all of you. Any chance 
of that?
