[Hallicrafters] Good Ebay experience

This isn't just an eBay issue. Buyers are generally unwilling to cover the cost of proper packing. I had a fellow tell me it was just a "cost of doing business". But I'm not a business, sooo ....

Why would someone pay nearly $2000 for a radio and then argue for days about $75 to have it packed by a professional electronics shipper (and I don't put UPS in that category!)? It makes no sense. The last time that happened I finally refused to sell the item to the guy.

On the other hand, there are many sellers who insist on you paying a hefty "packing fee", and the 60 lb item arrives in a ratty, second hand, single ply cardboard box with nothing but a few peanuts, and you get the latest in trapezoidal cabinets. There's always at least one chassis component usually an unsecured tube or a heavy transformer that breaks loose and presents an empirical lesson in the physics of projectiles in an enclosed space. :/
