A handbuilt (by a technician) pre-production or engineering build would
be my guess. My SX-88 is one of those (based on a conversation with
Chuck Dachis) - it has a nameplate but no serial number, scribe marks,
an extra tube, and four crystals in the 2nd converter instead of two.
Even one spot where a tube socket hole was punched in the wrong place,
welded-up, and re-punched. Congrats! It makes what you have a rare bird.
