[Hallicrafters] What would you do?

Jerome,

1. Carefully remove from cabinet.
     A. Disconnect fan plug from chassis FIRST - OR - you'll destroy it!

2. Turn chassis on side.

3. Note ALL those plastic tubular capacitors, brown bodies, black bodies 
(both nave their values in colored stripes.) the pink ones are Tiny Chiefs.

     A.  Replace ALL of these "plastic tubular capacitors".

4. Look at the yellow paper filter caps located below the transformer.
     A.  Those are old dried out filter capacitors.  Replace them.

That is where you START.
