[Hallicrafters] SX-28A Band selector

Hi,  I've been tuning up my SX-28A and have a couple of questions.  Is there a stop (or should there be) on the band selector between 55-1.6 MC and 21-42 MC.  I'm maybe missing a stop if there is one.  Second question: Suddenly I lost reception on the 55-1.6 MC band (band went dead).  A suggestion on what to check would be appreciated.  Thanks.
