[Hallicrafters] SX-100 vs SX-88

The "Q" of the IF transformers is not even close. The SX-88 was  the 
Cadillac while the SX-100 is a Ford or Chevy.

The SX-100 sounds great with no known issues. It is  a Mark 1B version and
comes with an original manual. Last winter I had the  opportunity to repair 
a
SX-88 and though this may sound like blasphemy, the  circuitry is closely
aligned but the performance IMHO of the SX-100 was  just as good and
certainly better on SSB. 

The R-46B is nearly mint  paint wise and only the flocking on the grill 
shows
any wear at all. The  speaker is perfect and has a new cord.

I am asking $275 for both the radio and  speaker. I prefer pickup in
Caldwell, NJ, or I can arrange for pick up in  Hudson, MA as well a possibly
in Dayton in 2 weeks. I could also pack and  ship it at cost since it is not
that large. I would use two  boxes.
