By development ancestors, are you referring to the SX-17, SX-23, or both?
Somewhere I've seen the claim that the SX-25 is a reboxed SX-23 which was reworked to make that radio more mass-producible. True? I don't know. I've also heard that the SX-24 and SX-25 were reboxings of the SX-16 and SX-17. Hallicrafters did a lot of this. (SX-16 begat the SX-24 begat the SX-99 eventually; S-20R begat S-40 begat S-85 begat S-108, etc.)
Good luck with "exact" Halli schematics. I think some of their former tech writers must have trained the ones who worked for Aerotron ("Errortron"), makers of some of the world's worst land-mobile radios; Aerotron's manuals were always at least three years behind production and some carried mistakes forward for more than 15 years (!).
I have an original SX-25 manual but unfortunately it has a 1945 date.
