Wow, that's the most I've heard of one bringing in quite some time. Haven't
seen one break $1K in a few years. Got mine from the original owner back in
the late 90s on a tip from a fellow on the weekly net. Paid somewhere
around $550 shipped. He even had the original box, but wasn't able to
locate it in time to ship. It came with all the original Halli-branded
tubes and even had a spare rolling around in the bottom that I needed for
the 62B. They were all good, too! Need to add a new line cord to mine and
get it set up again. It's been a few years since it saw regular service.
Let us know when the day comes that you track down the problem, Jim. From
what Al added, it sounds just like the issue with the old SX-101 I had.
Tweak the slug and the oscillator would start working.
