$1625! Ouch!
I paid $150 for mine which included a HT-32A, full NIB tube sets for both, a
Drake SPR-4 with a slipping drive, a bunch of manuals and other tubes.
That was the asking price on Craigslist about 4 years ago.
It is currently in use with a cleaner HT-32B and NCL-2000.

Thanks, Al, Todd & Walt for your inputs....To answer your questions, I had
done a major switch and pot cleaning when I first got this rig 3 years ago,
and noticed the problem from day one. And, as of today, I tried the
uppper/lower sideband switch and that also did not correct the problem...
So, when I get tired enough of this anomaly and want to mess with it, I will
do the re-alignment of the mixer and oscillator as described in the
manual... I knew you guys would come through! BTW, I just saw a pretty good
looking SX-115 on ebay for $1,625 with another day to go. Just FYI, I paid
about half of that 3 years ago. Don't feel too bad now!
Thanks again, Jim Marshall, K6OLY (like the beer!)

Hi Jim, et al,
I hoped Todd, or somebody, would have a possible solution for you, but
guess I had to hunt up my manual to follow my thought.
I think you're right abt the 3rd mixer being the problem. Look at pg
13 in the manual, maybe adjusting T8 (upper and lower slugs as
appropriate) to help the oscillator to start running. I thought there
would be an adjustment, either a slug or trimmer, just needed to RTFM.
Todd's suggestion is also a good one, clean things up.
By chance, would it start working if you just switched sidebands? You
could swap in a new 12AT7, that might have one weak section.
Sorry it's taken us so long to break out of the weekend doldrums.
