[Hallicrafters] FYI

I completely agree Paul.

Jim has been waging a little war in my direction for quite awhile after I
questioned the correctness of some of his statements. He considers any
criticism to be beligerent which is a laugh considering your backround.

He has been so petty as to even publish private email comments and to make
snide comments on several forums when I havent even been posting.
Then todays Maxwell comment that doesnt even concern Hallicrafters.

Im surprised Duane or George havent asked him to cut it out or put him out
to pasture for awhile.

The spin and damage control in Jims next reply should be good for a real
laugh, he always has to get in the last word. There comes a point and I just
ignore him.

Meanwhile I have to get back to a HQ-150 Im upgrading for a customer.

Hi James,

Not sure why you are so defensive.

>> You have come to a conclusion that is incorrect and inappropriate! I have
>> purchased every ER issue that contains information that is of interest to
>> me.

As for the conclusion being incorrect, where in the following request does
it provide the information that you have already purchased every ER issue of
interest to you, that the article you want is packed up and unavailable at
the moment?

>> Do you have a copy of the changes for the SX-117 that were in Electric
>> Radio?? I would be quite interested in that article and the author.

Since you were asking for a copy, with no additional information, it reads
as is if you are trying to circumvent purchasing a copy. What other
conclusion could a reasonable person come to, something we in law
enforcement take into consideration when evaluating situations. I did not
have the additional and very pertinent information that could have led me to
a different conclusion.

> I would be quite interested in that article and the author.

I'm sorry, but the above request does not make it "obvious that I needed
more information ".
It only looked to me, from that sentence, that you wanted a copy of the
article and to know who the author was.

As for inappropriate, I can't even begin to see where it could be
inappropriate. In my case I was just commenting on Carl's position. Just
think of it as a reminder to all of us about being careful when sharing
information that might be otherwise "protected" and the need to support
those that develop and provide this information.

As for writing articles, I have written for and been published in the Hollow
State Newsletter, so it's not like I haven't made my own small contribution
to our hobby.

I'm not trying to start another "flame" war, I just think that you have read
too much into Carls and my comments. If all the facts had been presented at
first (you already owned the copies but they weren't accessible and you
wanted to contact the author for more information), I expect Carls and my
responses wouldn't even have been made.

73,
Paul W2EC
