[Hallicrafters] SX-17 question

    I just looked at the handbook for the SX-17 on BAMA.  It 
appears that the two RF stages are bypassed for the highest 
frequency range.  Is this true?  I can understand bypassing 
it for the broadcast band but not for 40 to 60 Mhz where the 
image response even with two RF stages will not be very 
good. Am I misreading this or is there an error, I can't 
believe this is actually the way the thing is designed.
