[Hallicrafters] Off-subject / soldering

I likewise seem to have long lasting problem with Duane over his "off topic" double standard. If someone else starts off-topic it's verbotten, but if he starts it, anything goes, i.e "frogs" etc. Of course his argument back to me is that he has no double standards. This however goes back to his admonishing a ham many years ago who stated that he was handicapped and needed some help with a radio. Duane took the poor guy to task about his "probably not being handicapped" and just trying for sympathy and he was basically a crook. Yet Duane has no qualms about highlighting his own handicaps when looking for help. Duane says that isn't a double standard, since he really is handicapped but there was no proof the other guy was. I don't see much from Duane anymore however, as I just delete anything from him without even reading it.

I too have said it before to Duane directly and I'll say it again to the 
forum in general I thought this forum was about Hallicrafters  radios and 
accessories and related electronics so let's keep it that way.

Sorry Duane, but I can't agree with what you say. Every copy of the 
"Redbook" , every other reference book I have, and every on-line reference 
that I can find states that the Lincoln cent weighed 3.11, not 4.11 grams 
during those years (except 1943) . Also eliminating  the small percentage of 
tin in the composition (a fraction of 5%) in 1962  could not have changed 
the total weight by nearly 25%. In fact the indian head cent also weighed 
the same at 3.11 grams from 1864 on until the Lincoln cent replaced it.

I have a scale here calibrated in grains, the average copper Lincoln cent 
weighs in at about 48 grains or a little less if worn. 48 grains equals 3.11 
grams.

This is not the forum for this argument, but please check your facts again. 
If you can point me to any on-line reference to back up your information,  I 
would be happy to take a look at it..
