[Hallicrafters] HT 33A amplifier

Have you ever seen a HT 33A amplifier that looked as if it had been mounted in the exhaust hood over a frying vat at a fried chicken joint? My HT 33A looks great on the outside since I cleaned it, but the inside is coated with a greasy substance (probably capacitor oil with PCBs) full of dirt, dust and nicotine!!

I normally back off on a cleaning job, but this is really going to be a doozy!! I don't like to use water on electronics especially here HV transformers (not potted) are mounted. BUT, I need to dissolve the grease/oil and nicotine and flush out.

Please don't start a thread again about chassis cleaning because that has been beaten to death before. But if you would like to comment on cleaning a greasy HT 33A, feel free to email me directly. I don't want to kill the patient with the cure. Thanks and 73, John, K5PGW
