[Hallicrafters] Repainting a transformer cover

I use the Big Box Store spray cans too.  Usually black.  If so,  I use SATIN as they come out looking close to as original.  Looks great to me.  I just did all my Heathkit DX-100 transformers that way on the one I totally took apart to rewire as a new kit.

Depending on color needed I use header paint from the auto store or charcoal 
grille paint for serious temperatures.

But for a restored receiver running at 115V or less Ive found box store 
rattle cans fine.
