Hello Rick,

The tip is not likely to break off clean.

I just use a vertical belt sander and sand the tip back to where it's good
again and then cool it of in some water!

Merry Christmas Hallicrafters friends,

Douglas in Green Bay

I have a set of Bristol Drivers here and the main ones i want to use are
warn out on the tips. I am thinking of putting one of the drivers into a
vise with just the tip of the driver sticking up out of the vise jaw and snap
the tip off. The last thing you want to do is file or grind the tip off to
avoid burrrs. What do you think? Am i on track?
