     Its easy to forget that at the time the S-76 came out 
this country had gone to war again (Korea), there were parts 
and materials shortages, labor problems, and rather serious 
inflation.  I suspect Hallicrafters had to scramble to find 
parts and to maintain production since they probably also 
had military contracts.
