The difficulties in getting this combo going together are chronicled in the
QTH.net Hallicrafters archives. The person who caused most all the trouble
is Skip, W7WGM (aka Waldo Magnuson) who related this to the list on Sat Mar
18 14:04:23 EST 2006. I quote, in part, "At the recent Seattle (actually
Puyallup) Hamfest I purchased a SX-117
/ HT-44 pair."

This started a conversation about these two units, including the dreaded
slave mode, that lasted five years. One of the last messages I kept from
Skip was this in response to someone inquiring about the pair on Mon Jan 25
12:40:07 EST 2010;

"Hi Lee,
I run a HT-44 / SX-117 station and like the combination. Very few
problems and I always get good reports. I've had them for about 5 years and
before the 44/117 I has a HT-37 / SX-111 setup. The transceive mode in
44/117 works very well and caused no issues in connections - just follow the
manual.
73, Skip W7WGM"

Since both your units are running nicely, I suppose you could save yourself
a lot of time and interesting reading by simply contacting Skip directly.
You should be able to find his current email address in the archives:
http://mailman.qth.net/ (click on list directories, then "Hallicrafters",
then on "Hallicrafters Archives", then navigate to the year, month, and day
you wish to review.)

Good luck,
Chris

Trying to slave the 2 and have them hooked up as required per the
instructions. Both work well alone but will not tx when switched.Checked the
cables and switches,I'm sure someone has had the problem before and may have
some ideas.Thanks...KF9WV
