There is a seller on ebay with solid state replacements for the 1L6, 50A1 and others.  I bought a solid state 1L6 a few years ago from him and it works great in my RCA StratoWorld receiver that has a similar tube line-up to the Zenith TO.   Not cheap, but about the same as a new 1L6 these days and won't wear out.
