Bill is SO RIGHT about steel wool! I forgot to mention that stuff.

Rusty radios? Don't buy 'em, except as a parts source. Even then don't pay a lot of money for them.

Something else I forgot to mention regarding high voltage and arc-over hazards:

DON'T use any cleaning methods that leave residue. If they do, get the residue off the insulators and anything else where high voltage travels.

You can quickly and irreparably ruin a part made of Unobtanium, if you get an arc that burns a carbon path across it or cracks it. Yes, this CAN AND DOES happen with even porcelain insulators. Transformers? Yep. Seen it.

With high voltage, you must constantly inspect and clean your equipment to avoid problems.

AND BEFORE YOU DO -- ALWAYS ALWAYS ALEAYS make SURE there are no voltages lurking inside from charged capacitors. SHORT THE BEE-PLUS TO GROUND first.

Otherwise... it can make you tax exempt.

"But, Mister Wizard... this sounds SCARY."

Damn right, Kid.
