Hi Clemens
I've seen quite a few R-42's listed on Ebay so its not really a hard speaker to find ,and connected with an Sx-42 the audio is indeed GREAT !
The serial no. on the SX-42 is on the rear side of the rcvr.

Regards,
Nick

I am sure this is the very best place to ask the following question: What
re the chances of finding the speakers meant to be used with the
allicrafters SX-42? I.e. the R-42, the R-44 or R-45? And is it worth
aking the effort? At the moment I am using one of the excellent circular
ammond transformers to convert from the 500 ohms to a 4-8 ohms LS and
hat sounds great. But of course it doesn't exactly look authentic. Even so
he "Darth Vader" speaker seems somewhat removed from Raymond Loewy's
mazing design. The rx is from my year of birth and as my son said "Excuse
e Dad, but it does not look like that". :-)
Any comments on availability and 'suitability' of the three speakers?
Best,
Clemens S.Ostergaard

PS. Where should the serial nr. be on the SX-42?
